Abstract

This paper presents the service differentiation over Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) networks. A method is proposed to provide necessary bridges between DiffServ and GMPLS network. Policy framework defined by the IETF is also extended with new policies for controlling and managing the life-cycle of Label Switched Paths (LSPs) and for the mapping of DiffServ traffic onto existing LSPs.
