Abstract

In the mobile Internet, characteristics, such as dynamic topology, power constrained, bandwidth-constrained links, make multicasting extremely challenging. This paper proposes a novel multicast routing mechanism in the mobile Internet environment, which creates and maintains route by means of connected broadcast ring graph. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the mechanism can satisfy the requirements of the Internet for multicast applications with higher data packet delivery ratio and less control overhead.
