Die 1981 auf Deutsch erschienene Monografie Theorie der Gefühle von Agnes Heller gehört bis heute zu den wenigen Monografien auf dem Feld der philosophischen Emotionstheorien. Von einigen Erwähnungen abgesehen (Steinfath 2001; Voss 2003), kann jedoch von einer Rezeptionsgeschichte des Buches kaum die Rede sein.
