Zusammenfassung

Dieser exemplarische Fall beschreibt eine mögliche Anwendung von „life story work“ (Biografiearbeit) in Großbritannien. Die Entwicklung der britischen Biografiearbeit spiegelt gesellschaftliche, wissenschaftliche, fachliche und rechtliche Strömungen wider. Da Biografiearbeit im englischen Sprachraum seit Jahrzehnten methodisch differenziert und zielgerichtet eingesetzt wird und im Adoptionswesen in England und Wales sogar gesetzlich vorgeschrieben ist, bietet die Auseinandersetzung mit der britischen Theorie und Praxis deutschen SozialarbeiterInnen wertvolle Anregungen zur Reflexion und Ergänzung eigener Konzepte und Methoden.
