Abstract
Uncertainty with regard to the outcomes of decisions is one of the chief characteristics of market economies. In this plenary session three speakers explored the role of economic uncertainty for economy and society from different perspectives. The plenary session aimed at insights into the complex character of economic uncertainty and its role in current economic and social transformations.
