Abstract
In Karl Polanyi’s seminal book “The Great Transformation” from 1944, the terra stands for the entire process of the emergence of a self-regulated market economy and free market society based on the commodification of labor, land and money as well as its ckamatic faüure in the 20th Century and the double movement of market de- and re-regulation.
