Auszug
Bei einem Blick in die wöchentlich erscheinenden politischen Zeitschriften, wie z.B. in den „Spiegel“ und in Wochenzeitungen, wie z.B. in die „Zeit“ ist nicht zu übersehen, dass seit dem 4. Dezember 2001 — also seit der Veröffentlichung des internationalen PISA-Ergebnisberichts (OECD 2001) — eine heftige Diskussion um Fragen der „Qualität des bundesdeutschen Bildungswesens“ geführt wird. Grundlage dieser Diskussion sind die relativ niedrigen durchschnittlichen Leistungswerte und die hohen Leistungsstreuungen in der deutschen Schülerschaft in Leseverständnis, Mathematik und Naturwissenschaften. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit ziehen dabei die sog. Risikogruppen (Immigrantenkinder, Jugendliche aus sozial schwachen Familien, Schülerinnen und Schüler aus Hauptschulen) mit besonders schwachen Leistungen auf sich (vgl. Deutsches PISA Konsortium 2001, 2002)
