Zusammenfassung
Die bourdieusche Kapitaltheorie unterstellt, dass inkorporiertes kulturelles Kapital (vor allem hochkulturelle Aktivitäten) eine Akkumulation von institutionalisiertem Kulturkapital in Form von Bildungsabschlüssen erleichtert. Verschiedene Befunde und Diskussionen von quantitativen Kultursoziologen stellen jedoch die ausschließliche Bedeutung von hochkulturellen Aktivitäten in Frage und beziehen sich dabei auf Gerhard Schulzes alltagsästhetische Schemata. An Hand der LifE-Studie wird der Frage nachgegangen, ob neben dem Hochkulturschema auch das Spannungsschema für die soziale Reproduktion eine Rolle spielen kann.
Abstract
The capital theory of Bourdieu implies that embodied cultural capital (above all highbrow cultural activities) facilitates the accumulation of institutionalized cultural capital as educational degrees. However, various findings of quantitative cultural sociologists question the importance of highbrow activities and refer to the action scheme of Gerhard Schulze. Using data from the LifE-Study it is analyzed whether the action scheme, in addition to highbrow culture, enables social reproduction.
