Soziale Bewegungen und das mexikanische politische System

Zusammenfassung

Soziale Bewegungen sind kollektive Aktionen, die darauf ausgerichtet sind, sozialen Wandel über nicht institutionelle Wege zu ermöglichen oder sich ihm zu widersetzen. Man kann sie als Politik mit anderen Mitteln verstehen. Häufig sind sie die einzigen Mittel, die Gruppen zur Verfügung stehen, die – aufgrund fehlender Macht – weder über einen regulären Zugang zur Entscheidungsfindung noch – aufgrund fehlender finanzieller Mittel – über wirtschaftlichen Einfluss verfügen. Beide Mängel lassen sich jedoch durch Organisation überwinden, durch die es gelingt, Macht zu generieren und Ressourcen zu mobilisieren, um ihren Forderungen Aufmerksamkeit zu verschaffen.
