Zusammenfassung

Aus der Perspektive der Vergleichenden Politikwissenschaft ist es keine Überraschung, dass – wie in anderen süd- und südosteuropäischen Ländern – in Griechenland lange Zeit Auffassungen dominierten, in denen Interessengruppen kritisch, bisweilen sogar feindselig betrachtet wurden. Erst sukzessive wurden diese Auffassungen durch fundierte Analysen des griechischen Vereins- und Verbändewesens ersetzt. Tatsächlich bilden Interessengruppen denn auch einen wichtigen, wissenschaftlich jedoch häufig vernachlässigten Aspekt der politischen, sozialen und ökonomischen Entwicklung Griechenlands. Besonders nach der Wiederherstellung des Parlamentarismus nach 1974 und in wachsendem Maße seit dem EUBeitritt Griechenlands 1981 nehmen die Interessengruppen unter den Faktoren, die den politischen Prozess formen, einen zentralen Stellenwert ein. Für das bislang geringe wissenschaftliche Interesse an Verbänden und Interessengruppen war das Zusammenwirken bestimmter politischer und intellektueller Entwicklungstendenzen verantwortlich.
