Zusammenfassung
Die Internationalisierung des Kommunikationsmanagement und der Public Relations (PR) als eigener Forschungsbereich ist noch jung und wurde erst Mitte der 1990er Jahre als „hot topic“ identifiziert (Culbertson 1996). Das hat damit zu tun, dass die Entwicklung von PR ein Phänomen westlicher Gesellschaften ist, in denen schon früh der Marktkapitalismus eingeführt wurde (Miller und Dinan 2003).
