Statt mit Messern oder bloßen Fäusten, wie im Jahre 1862, ziehen im mashup World of Fourcraft (worldoffourcraft. com) die modernen Konsumritter mit Smartphones, GPS und 3GVerbindung los, um die New Yorker Stadtgemeinden unter sich aufzuteilen. Jeder Besuch in einem Restaurant, in einer Bar oder einem Geschäft wird aufgezeichnet (check-in) und trägt dazu bei, mit dem eigenen Spielerteam einen Stadtbezirk zu besetzen. World of Fourcraft verknüpft die check-in Funktion der Plattform Foursquare (foursquare.com) mit GoogleMaps, um aus jedem Besuch eines Cafés ein Spielerlebnis zu machen.
