Zusammenfassung

Die theoretischen Positionen, die in der Alternsforschung – der deutschen und der angelsächsischen –dominieren, lassen sich stark verallgemeinert drei Paradigmen zuordnen. Diese drei Paradigmen sind historisch nacheinander aufgetreten, haben sich – so die These von Victor W. Marshall (1999) – im Gespräch miteinander entwickelt, indem sie sich gegenseitig schematisiert haben. Das ist sicherlich auch für die deutsche Alternsforschung zutreffend.
