Zusammenfassung

»Was ist Technik?« (WA 32, 154). Diese Frage beantwortet Dürrenmatt im Vorwort zum Buch von Bernhard Wicki ›Zwei Gramm Licht‹ (1960) mit Hinweis auf den Schriftsteller und Technosophen Adrien Turel: Technik sei »die Möglichkeit, Prothesen anzuwenden « (ebd.). Wer Technik unter dem Aspekt ihrer Prothesenhaftigkeit denkt, denkt sie ambivalent: Sie ist notwendig, ermöglicht vieles, aber sie macht den Menschen auch abhängig. Diese Spannung entfaltet Dürrenmatt in seinem Nachdenken über Technik auf exemplarische Weise.
