Zusammenfassung
Diese Betrachtungen laufen darauf hinaus, dass der amerikanische Roman der letzten dreißig Jahre die vom Vortragstitel aufgerufene Beziehung aus nichteuropäischer Perspektive narrativ ausgearbeitet hat. Sie wollen zusätzlich einsichtig (oder jedenfalls denkbar) machen, dass die seit Kriegsende in Deutschland ausgetragene öffentliche Debatte zu ähnlichen Ergebnissen geführt hat.
