Zusammenfassung
Das vorliegende Kapitel behandelt die Wortbildungstypen, bei denen auf der Basis genau eines Stammes ein neuer Stamm gebildet wird. Dabei tritt ein Element aus einer kleinen Klasse von Affixen zum Basisstamm und transponiert ihn in einer Pivot-Struktur als Präfix (7.1) oder Suffix (7.2) in eine an das Affix gebundene Kategorie. Affigierung sieht man meist als den prototypischen Fall von Wortbildung an. Entsprechend gilt die affixlose Umsetzung eines Stammes in eine andere Kategorie als markiert. Konversion wäre ein Grenzfall von Affigierung (7.3).
