Zusammenfassung

Die Versdichtung Emilie vor ihrem Brauttag nimmt in H.s Werk eine deutliche Sonderstellung ein. Kein anderes seiner Gedichte hat einen vergleichbaren Umfang, und auch die Form des Briefgedichtes verwendet H. kein weiteres Mal. Bemerkenswert ist jedoch vor allem die Entstehungsgeschichte, denn es handelt sich hier um eine Auftragsarbeit, die H. weitere Publikationsmöglichkeiten eröffnen sollte.
