Abstract
Dass dem Raum in einem Handbuch zur historischen Narratologie überhaupt ein eigenes Kapitel gewidmet ist, mag zunächst irritieren, wurde der Raum doch lange Zeit nicht als eigenständige narratologische Kategorie behandelt. Standardwerke wie Gérard Genettes Die Erzählung (erstmals 1972/83) oder Wolf Schmids Elemente der Narratologie (erstmals 2003) kennen in ihrem Register häufig nicht einmal das Lemma Raum bzw. Ort (vgl. zu weiteren Beispielen Nünning 2009, 34).
