Zussamenfassung
Die Rede von einer philosophischen Tradition in Byzanz setzt in der Forschungsliteratur erst 1949 ein (vgl. Tatakis 1949); in den 60er Jahren wird dann die Auffassung von ihrem bewusst oder unbewusst platonisch geprägten Charakter ausgeformt und im Zusammenhang damit die Formel der »neuplatonischbyzantinischen Philosophie« (Oehler 1969, 15 f.) eingeführt.
