Zussamenfassung
In der Nachfolge des Sokrates bildet Tugend (aretê) für Platon – neben dem Begriff des Glücks (eudaimonia) – das wichtigste Konzept der Moralphilosophie. Platon spricht einerseits von der Tugend im kollektiven Singular, andererseits von den Tugenden; die als Einheit konzipierte aretê setzt sich für Platon aus verschiedenen Einzeltugenden (aretai) zusammen (vgl. Prot. 325a).
