Zussamenfassung

Kunst (technê) ist ein zentraler Terminus in Platons Dialogen. Er taucht – je nach Suchkriterien – weit über 600 Mal auf. Hinzukommen über 180 Stellen mit abgeleiteten Worten oder Komposita, 75 Nennungen des Adverbs ›nicht-kunstgemäß‹ (atechnôs) und Termini, die mit dem Wortfeld aufs engste verbunden sind, z. B. ›Handwerker‹ (dêmiourgos) mit über 150 Stellen. Unzählig sind die Stellen, wo durch die Extension »–ikê« das Wort technê ohne Bedeutungsverlust wegfallen kann, z. B. Heilkunst (iatrikê) (Lyons 1963; Roochnik 1996, 253 und 265; Balansard 2001; Löbl 2003, 61–177).
