Zusammenfassung
Hat die Beschäftigung mit Notationssystemen im ersten Kapitel den Akzent auf die syntaktische und semantische Struktur von Symbolsystemen gelegt und ein Verständnis der denotierenden Bezugnahme einer Note auf den Klang, einer Partitur auf die Aufführung vorausgesetzt, so stehen jetzt die Formen der Bezugnahme von Symbolen im Vordergrund: ausgehend von der für das Verhältnis von Kunst und Kognition relevanten Ebene des Musikalischen, der Aufführung, des Klangs.
