Zusammenfassung

In der Semantik und Pragmatik wird der Aspekt der Bedeutung von sprachlichen Ausdrücken untersucht. Allgemein nimmt man an, dass sprachliche Ausdrücke Bedeutung haben — wir sagen dann, dass wir ihre Bedeutung kennen. Sprachliche Ausdrücke können aber auch bei der Verwendung in der Kommunikation Bedeutung gewinnen. Wir kennen diese Sorte Bedeutung allerdings nicht, ohne dass die Ausdrücke verwendet werden. Diese beiden Perspektiven auf Bedeutung entsprechen der Unterscheidung der Teildisziplinen Semantik und Pragmatik.
