Abstract
Recent results of research work on high pressure plasmas obtained by the Kiel ballistic compressor are reported: 1. determination of electrical conductivity, 2. environmental effects on Hall sensor measurements for the piston approach, 3. homogeneity checks of the compressed plasma near the wall, 4. determination of the equation of state from sound velocity measurements, and 5. line broadening studies in highly compressed rare gas and hydrogen-atom plasmas.
