Zusammenfassung
Die Technik der Herstellung von elektrolumineszierenden ZnS=Phosphoren ist nicht grundsätzlich verschieden von der gewöhnlicher Phosphore vom ZnS=Typus [II 1]. Man kann jedoch noch nicht endgültig ein Prinzip an=geben, das die notwendigen und hinreichenden Bedingungen, unter denen solche Phosphore elektrolumineszierend werden, genügend scharf definieren läßt. Ein relativ hoher Zusatz von Aktivatoratomen, ein wesentlich höherer als er für gewöhnliche Phosphoreszenz notwendig ist, scheint aber allen bisher bekannten EL=Phosphoren gemeinsam zu sein. Er kann aber an der Oberfläche konzentriert sein. Während übliche ZnS:Cu=Phosphore Kupfer in einer Konzentration von etwa 10−5 Grammatomen auf 1 Mol ZnS enthalten, ist zur Erzeugung von EL eine mindestens zehnmal größere Konzentration nötig. Im allgemeinen geht man damit sogar bis zum Hundertfachen.
