Abstract
At the end of the war, the iron and steel industry of Japan had virtually-come to a complete standstill. Determined efforts during the post-war period reversed this situation: in 1967 crude steel production exceeded the 50 million ton limit and the export of iron and steel products from Japan won her the third place with the European Coal and Steel Community and the USA in the lead.
