Radikaler Rechtspopulismus in Westeuropa

Zusammenfassung

Der scheinbar unaufhaltsame Aufstieg radikal rechtspopulistischer Parteien stellt eine der wichtigsten politischen Herausforderungen an das etablierte Parteiensystem dar. Entwicklung und Erfolgsbilanz radikal rechtspopulistischer Parteien lassen sich an ihren Ergebnissen bei nationalen Wahlen ablesen (Tabelle 1). Zu den erfolgreichsten westeuropäischen Parteien gehören die Freiheitliche Partei Österreichs (seit 1995 „F-Bewegung“), der französische Front National und der belgische Vlaams Blok (im flämischen Teil Belgiens erreichte er im Mai 1995 über 12 Prozent der Stimmen). Dagegen stagnieren die italienische Lega Nord (bei den Regionalwahlen im Frühjahr 1995 erhielt sie zwischen 10 und 18 Prozent der Stimmen), die dänische Fremskridtspartiet und die schweizerischen Freiheitlichen (früher „Autopartei“). Aber auch der Niedergang der deutschen Republikaner war kein Einzelfall. Eine ähnliche Entwicklung durchlief die schwedische Ny Demokrati (nachdem Ian Wachtmeister die Partei anfangs 1994 verließ) sowie, weniger dramatisch, die norwegische Fremskrittspartiet.
