Zusammenfassung

Der Fehler bei der Polynom-Interpolation kann bei wachsendem Polynomgrad sehr groß werden, da Polynome zu „welligem” Verhalten neigen. Einen glatten Verlauf erhält man, wenn man zwischen den geordneten Stützstellen xi(i = 0,... , n) mit kubischen Polynomen S(x) interpoliert.
