Zusammenfassung
Die Beziehungen zwischen den Indikatoren der sozialen Schicht und der Prävalenz kardiovaskulärer Risikofaktoren sowie ihre enge Verknüpfung mit der Entwicklung der koronaren Herzkrankheit und anderer Arteriosklerose-manifestationen sind in den letzten Jahren in vielen westlichen Industrieländern untersucht worden. Die Hauptrisikofaktoren — Rauchen, Hypertonie und Hypercholesterolämie — zeigen einen deutlichen Zusammenhang zur sozialen Schicht. Mit der Höhe der sozialen Schicht sinkt die Prävalenz der Risikofaktoren; die unteren sozialen Schichten sind am stärksten belastet (1–3).
