Zusammenfassung

Jede Art von Gesellschaft bedarf einer politischen Ordnung, die aus einer Vielzahl von Regeln besteht. Religionen — ebenfalls Regelwerke — müssen sich in diese politische Gesamtordnung einfügen. Davon geht die in Demokratien vorherrschende, auf dem Gedanken der Religionsfreiheit und dem Prinzip der Trennung von Staat und Kirche(n) begründete liberal-demokratische Vorstellung aus — eine Vorstellung, die zu großen Teilen auf dem Boden der heutigen Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika entwickelt wurde.
