Zusammenfassung
In diesem Text wird die Geometrie als ein theoretisches Feld begriffen, auch wenn sie sich durch die Erfordernisse von Problemen aus der realen Welt entwickelt hat. Die geometrischen Objekte und Relationen, die von theoretischer Natur sind, werden von ihren Darstellungen in verschiedenen Ausdruckssystemen (natürlichen Sprachen, formalen Sprachen, Zeichnungen) unterschieden. Hier werden die graphischen Darstellungen, die gewöhnlich Figuren genannt werden, besonders betrachtet. Als materielle Gegenstände visualisieren die graphischen Darstellungen in der Zeichenebene ebene oder räumliche Relationen. Die Objekte und Relationen der Geometrie erfordern theoretische Kenntnisse und Kontrollmittel, während die Darstellungen in erster Linie die — eventuell durch Instrumente gestützte — Wahrnehmung hervorrufen. Nur in einem Interpretationsprozeß erfordern diese Darstellungen theoretische Kenntnisse.
