Zusammenfassung

Während die Forschungsbemühungen von Pädagoglnnen und PsychologInnen schon immer dem individuellen Älterwerden des Menschen von der Geburt bis zum Erwachsenenalter galten, stellen die Phänomene der “graying world” (Lehr, 1983, S. 5), dem Älterwerden einer ganzen Population bzw. eines ganzen Volkes und der zunehmenden Lebenserwartung jedes einzelnen Menschen des westlichen Kulturkreises ganz neue Herausforderungen dar.
