Abstract
Let N be a compact piecewise smooth manifold of dimension m equipped with a stratification N 0 (= N) ⊃ N 1 ⊃ @@@ ⊃ N m ⊃ N m + 1 = Ø (cf. [0–3]). Let N i, α be the connected components of N i \ N i + 1, which are either empty or smooth submanifolds of codimension i.
