Abstract

This chapter will look at the problems and issues surrounding the introduction, and subsequent use, of messaging systems in large, internationally operating organisations. Requirements on messaging services — identified through in-depth literature studies and interviews — will be discussed. This can be related to the corporate history of e-mail usage, and therefore, the different adoption strategies that have been identified through case studies will be described and discussed. Finally, a summary and an analysis will be presented.
