Abstract
The productive start marks the transition from the development phase to operating the new eReporting system. This encompasses a significantly larger task spectrum than system operations in the conventional sense, as the latter primarily concerns technical availability and system use. The operation of an eReporting system, however, requires the involvement of all technical, content-and process-related aspects of corporate reporting. In addition to the mere technical availability of the system, these include the comprehensive support of all users and process participants as well as the management and maintenance of the eReporting system and its processes. This chapter describes the main aspects of system operations. To begin with, it concentrates on the nature of the transition from the development phase to continuous operations. It then gives a clear view of how expansion and adaptation requirements are managed. This is followed by a description of options for establishing and maintaining all master data and structures, as their quality is of considerable significance for the overall quality of the eReporting system. The chapter concludes with a presentation of various approaches to controlling the system with the help of key figures.
