Summary
After the volcanic eruption on the island Jan Mayen it has been made attempt to verify vertical movements of the island. Gravity stations were established, measured and remeasured two years later. The changes in gravity during the two years are found in the range from -49 ugal in the west to +60 µgal in the east related to the base station.
A tidegauge has been running since 1974, some results are shown from a test period.
