Abstract

The input and output statements of PEARL allow to transfer data from the working storage to an external data station (output) and vice versa (input). Generally data stations are standard peripheral devices (printer, card reader, TTY, disk, magnetic tape etc ) or process control devices (measuring devices, regulators, interrupting devices etc).
