Abstract
After defining the requirements of future engineering processes enabler technologies are explained. They are divided into the basic technologies global product data management, distributed system platforms, generic product data model and integration architecture and into several application oriented technologies like feature technology or agent technology. These technologies are the base to cope with the requirements of the future.
