Zusammenfassung
Das starke Wachstum der grenzüberschreitenden Investitionen (z. B. die weltweite Wachstumsrate von 250% zwischen 1980 und 1989) führt zu einer raschen Entwicklung von international vergleichenden Managementstudien. Die Mehrheit dieser Studien versucht zu klären, ob es Verhaltensunterschiede in den verschiedenen Ländern gibt. Wer im Ausland Tätigkeiten ausübt, muß die Bewohner des Landes verstehen, um ihr Verhalten vorhersagen und potentielle Konflikte vermeiden zu können.
