Zusammenfassung
Das Integration-Responsiveness-Paradigma zählt zu den zentralen Argumentationsfiguren in der Literatur zum Internationalen Management. Es beschreibt das Dilemma internationaler Unternehmungen, die Anforderungen der Anpassung an lokale Erfordernisse (Responsiveness) mit den dazu konträren Erfordernissen einer globalen Integration in Einklang bringen zu müssen. Zahlreiche Vorschläge versuchen das Problem zu lösen: Bekannt und immer wieder zitiert sind Perlmutters EPG-Schema zur Führung internationaler Unternehmungen (vgl. Perlmutter 1969), die Arbeiten von Bartlett und Ghoshal zur transnationalen Organisation (vgl. Bartlett/Goshal 1986, 1987, 1989, 1995), Hedlunds Heterarchie (vgl. Hedlund 1986), die horizontale Organisation von White/Poynter (1989, 1990) oder die Diversified Multinational Corporation von Doz/Prahalad (1991, 1993), deren gestalterische Schlusspointe sicherlich noch nicht mit der Metanationalen Unternehmung gesetzt ist (vgl. Doz et al. 1997). Alle diese Ansätze skizzieren das Ideal einer hochvernetzten internationalen Unternehmung, die ihre Internationalität zur Basis von Wettbewerbsvorteilen macht. Während das I-R-Paradigma und die entsprechenden Lösungsvorschläge in den Traditionen der Literatur zum Internationalen Management verankert sind, behandelt die Münchner Schule und damit der Jubilar neuerdings den Poly-zentrismus internationaler Unternehmen aus der Perspektive des Strategischen Management bzw. der Sicht einer evolutionären Organisationslehre (vgl. Kirsch 1997a, 1997b, 1997c, 2001).
