Abstract
The digitalisation and virtualisation of business processes have reached the capital markets: Electronic exchanges, virtual market places as well as a growing number of direct public offerings have become regular features of modern corporate finance. They are accompanied by the international harmonisation of accounting with its investor orientation and the digitalisation of business processes which complement one other. Customer orientation is characteristic of both trends.
