Zusammenfassung
Kuo-min tang (KMT) ist der chinesische Name der nationalistischen Einheitspartei Chinas, die im Jahre 1912 gebildet und 1914, 1917 und 1923/24 reorganisiert wurde. Von 1928 bis 1949 kontrollierte die KMT die chinesische Zentralregierung. Der Name setzt sich zusammen aus den Begriffen »Reich« (kuo),»Volk« (min) und »Partei« (tang). Eine brauchbare deutsche Übersetzung wäre »Nationale Volkspartei«.
