Zusammenfassung
Mit der zunehmenden Verfügbarkeit leistungsfähiger Informations- und Kommunikationstechniken eröffnen sich für die Gestaltung der Mensch-Computer Schnittstelle neue Dimensionen. Unter den Schlagworten „Objektorientierung“ und „Multimedia“ werden hierbei konzeptionelle Ansätze diskutiert, welche den Anwender integrierter Informationssysteme in die Lage versetzen sollen, die zunehmende Komplexität dieser Systeme zu beherrschen und im angebotenen Informationsvolumen zu navigieren. Das Hypermedia/-text-Konzept verkörpert hierbei die konsequente Übertragung des objektorientierten Paradigmas auf den Entwurf und die Implementierung multimedialer Benutzerschnittstellen. Da die Verwendung unterschiedlicher Medien keinen Einfluß auf die Grundidee nonlinearer Strukturen hat, werden die Begriffe Hypertext und Hypermedia synonym gebraucht.
