Zusammenfassung

Die Nutzung akademischen Wissens durch die Industrie hat in den letzten Jahren zunehmend Aufmerksamkeit durch die Politik erfahren. Wissenschaftliches Know- how in Form von Publikationen, Patenten etc., sowie bestimmte an Universitäten und außeruniversitären Einrichtungen entwickelte Kompetenzen (tacit knowledge)1 werden als wichtige Inputs für technologische Innovationen und somit als ein wichtiger Beitrag zur Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von Unternehmen betrachtet. Darüber hinaus haben sich auch die Erwartungen an die Universitäten in Richtung der Erzeugung direkt umsetzbaren Wissens in den letzten Jahren verstärkt.
