Am 21.2. zog sich die Partei Am Ehad mit Staatsminister Shmuel Avital aus der Koalition mit der Begründung zurück, dass Ministerpräsident Sharon die Koalitionsvereinbarungen nicht eingehalten habe. Zum 14.3. schieden auch die beiden Minister des aus drei Parteien bestehenden Wahlbündnisses Nationale Union-Yisrael Beiteinu, Tourismusminister Benny Elon und Infrastrukturminister Avigdor Lieberman, aus der Regierungsmannschaft aus, weil sie Konzessionen Sharons gegenüber den Palästinensern nicht mittragen wollten (nach der Ermordung von Minister Ze’evi 2001 hatte das Wahlbündnis seinen Rückzug aus der Regierung vorübergehend aufgeschoben).
