Zusammenfassung
In der Betriebswirtschaftslehre als einer anwendungsorientierten Wissenschaft aber auch im allgemeinen Sprachgebrauch ist Vertrauen ambivalent. Einerseits handelt es sich um eine positiv besetzte Kategorie, andererseits erinnert es uns an die allgegenwärtige Verwundbarkeit und Ungewissheit in sozialen Interaktionen einschließlich wirtschaftlicher Transaktionen. Vertrauen steht für positive Erwartungen trotz der nicht völlig auszuschließenden Möglichkeit, dass diese enttäuscht werden. Die Szenarien der Enttäuschung werden im Vertrauen zumindest vorübergehend ausgeblendet, als ob sie nicht eintreten könnten, obwohl sie es könnten. Die in diesem Band thematisierte Glaubwürdigkeit läuft insofern auf Vertrauenswürdigkeit hinaus, als dass durch Vertrauen die Zweifel bezüglich der Glaubwürdigkeit im Hegelianischen Sinne ‚aufgehoben‘ werden können, das heißt sie werden überwunden und dennoch bewahrt. Das Element des Glaubens steckt dabei aber auch schon im Vertrauen selbst.
