Abstract

In this book we have discussed the discretisation of elliptic boundary value problems, adaptive mesh refinement, multilevel methods for the solution of the equation systems and the parallelisation of these methods. We have proposed and analysed algorithms for parallel load-balancing of multilevel methods on adaptively refined meshes by space-filling curves. Furthermore, we have demonstrated the efficiency of the approach on a number of large parallel computers.
