Abstract

In this paper we present the implementation of a prototype application for the establishment of Machine-to-Machine communication, including a monitoring Android application. We interconnect an M2M device, which executes authentication and authorization for users with Radio Frequency Identification credentials, to an M2M server. For this purpose, we use the IP Multimedia Subsystem based on the Session Initiation Protocol, and manage presence functionality provided by means of a presence server. Results show the high flexibility of the platform regarding adaptability to services, scalability and integration with commercial networks. The approach used in this work has a vast field of application, empowering the revolutionary concept of a universal Web of Things.
