Abstract
Patients and caregivers often express feeling isolated due to the infrequent diagnosis of mesothelioma and helpless due to the lack of available and dependable treatments. These issues, along with undue financial burdens and limited centers of excellence for treatment, culminate to reach the pinnacle of complicated illness, treatment, and grief. Providing emotional and mental health support to mesothelioma patients can be challenging and intimidating. This chapter focuses on how health-care providers can engage in difficult conversation with patients and their families during and after active treatment.
