Abstract
Chapter 13 by William M. Sughrua concludes this book. The central focus is the type of research methodology seemingly shared amongst the 11 studies of critical pedagogy and ELT presented in the book (Chaps. 2–12). This would be “politicized qualitative research methodology” (PQRM). This focus on PQRM is relevant. The reason is that, within studies such as those in the present volume, the “qualitativeness” of the methodology naturally becomes entangled with the “criticality” of the purpose. Consequently, by considering the PQR methodology of Chaps. 2–12, one can reach a deeper understanding of the criticality of these chapters. While drawing examples and illustrative detail from Chaps. 2–12, this concluding chapter situates critical studies in ELT such as those in this collection within qualitative research and more specifically PQRM in such a way that the critical intentions of this collection are reflected upon and summarized.
